Engaging Our Community

On Sunday, October 17th, Friends of Metro Theater hosted a booth at the Broadway Street Festival. Hundreds of passersby stopped to share their Metro memories and dreams, gaze at the beautiful portraits by jsilkphoto.com, read the #MetroDreams of the community, get information on how they could help, and make a donation. What an incredibly successful event….and just enormous proof of how much folks in the neighborhood care about Metro Theater, want it to re-open as a space for culture, arts and entertainment. Even UWS Assemblyman Danny O’Donnell and NYC Comptroller Scott Stringer stopped by to share their support and their wonderful #MetroDreams.
